🗳️ What the SIR Data Means for UP 2027

The 2026 SIR data provides an important baseline for political and electoral analysis ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election. District-level changes can help political organisations and campaign teams identify districts with significant voter-base changes, areas requiring fresh voter verification, high-change urban and semi-urban constituencies, and districts requiring detailed booth-level analysis.

The reduction should not automatically be interpreted as the removal of fake voters. The final numbers reflect changes between the pre-SIR and final electoral rolls and include different categories of electoral-roll revisions.

📌 Key Insight

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 reveals a significant urban-rural divide in voter roll changes across Uttar Pradesh's 75 districts. While every district saw a decline, urban and high-mobility districts recorded reductions 2-3 times higher than rural districts. This pattern suggests large-scale voter mobility, migration and changes in demographic composition that will be crucial for political parties to factor into their 2027 election strategies.
