📋 UP SIR 2026 Voter Roll Changes Across All 75 Districts
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh has resulted in a significant change in the state's voter database. According to the final electoral roll published on 10 April 2026, the number of electors has declined across all 75 districts compared with the pre-SIR electoral roll.
Across Uttar Pradesh, 2,04,45,300 voters — 13.24% of the pre-SIR electorate — were reduced from the electoral rolls. The final electoral roll contains 13,39,84,792 electors across Uttar Pradesh.
The Chief Electoral Officer also reported an increase of 84,28,767 electors between the draft and final rolls, highlighting the importance of analysing both deletions and additions rather than looking only at the net reduction.
The 2026 SIR data provides an important baseline for political and electoral analysis ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election. District-level changes can help political organisations and campaign teams identify districts with significant voter-base changes, areas requiring fresh voter verification, high-change urban and semi-urban constituencies, and districts requiring detailed booth-level analysis.
The reduction should not automatically be interpreted as the removal of fake voters. The final numbers reflect changes between the pre-SIR and final electoral rolls and include different categories of electoral-roll revisions.
Lucknow recorded the highest percentage reduction at 22.89% (9,14,185 voters), followed by Ghaziabad, Kanpur Nagar and Gautam Buddha Nagar. Major urban and high-mobility districts experienced some of the highest voter-roll reductions.

Urban and high-mobility districts experienced significantly higher voter reductions compared to rural districts. The data indicates that voter mobility, migration and urbanization patterns have substantially affected electoral rolls in major cities.

📊 Reduction Distribution
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 reveals a significant urban-rural divide in voter roll changes across Uttar Pradesh's 75 districts. While every district saw a decline, urban and high-mobility districts recorded reductions 2-3 times higher than rural districts. This pattern suggests large-scale voter mobility, migration and changes in demographic composition that will be crucial for political parties to factor into their 2027 election strategies.
